My Dream Digital Assistant: Why AI Is Still Letting Me Down

My Dream Digital Assistant: Why AI Is Still Letting Me Down

Okay, folks, let's talk about AI. It's everywhere, promising to revolutionise our lives. But honestly, I'm feeling let down.

I've been testing AI assistants, hoping to find one that can truly simplify my life. You know, a digital sidekick to handle mundane tasks and keep me organised. But so far, it's been bumpy.

The Struggles are Real

Scheduling a meeting should be simple, right? Wrong. Siri, Google Assistant, Gemini – they all stumble over the simplest details. Getting attendees, time, and date right is like pulling teeth!

Forget complex tasks. I'd love an AI to filter invoices, categorise expenses, and summarise financial data. But that's still science fiction, apparently.

AI assistants have a comprehension problem. They misinterpret, get names wrong, and jump to conclusions.

AI Assistant Face-Off

  • Siri: She tries, but isn't very accurate.
  • Google Assistant: Gemini on my Pixel 7 Pro is a disaster. The regular Assistant is slightly better, but gets confused easily.
  • Gemini (in-app): Inconsistent. Sometimes it can't help, other times it misunderstands.
  • ChatGPT: (Add your experiences with ChatGPT here. Strengths and weaknesses?)

Financial Tools: A Missed Opportunity

FreeAgent lacks flexibility for analysis, and MoneyHub's search and filtering are poor.

My AI Wish List

  • Handle complex financial tasks: Filter transactions, categorise expenses, summarise spending, and answer questions about my financial data.
  • Prioritise data privacy: Keep my sensitive information secure.

Ultimately, I want a single, integrated tool. A pipe dream? Maybe.
